Contributor Spotlight: Alice Bolin

Supplies I Saved Up To Make This Craft Project, My Poem, “Blues”:

• Trains.
• Poet C.S. Giscombe’s ideas about the railroad, mobility, migration, and location, especially as expressed in his book Here.
• The feeling of driving around in the mountains.
• A road trip feeling, but doomed, like in Lolita.
• The word “radio.”
• The experience of seeing a wild turkey while driving.
• The phrase “we love what doesn’t make us feel stupid.”
• The phrase “a ballad is just a slo-o-ow song.”
• Disorienting shifts in scale.
• The phrase “in my mind it’s already over.”
