Poetry Fellowships
Bucknell University. Stadler Center for Poetry. The 2009-10 Stadler Fellowship offers professional training in arts administration & literary editing in a thriving, university-based poetry center, while also providing the Fellow time to pursue his or her own writing. The Stadler Fellow assists for 20 hours each week in the administration of the Stadler Center for Poetry and/or in the editing of West Branch, a nationally distinguished literary journal. The Fellow also serves as an instructor in the Bucknell Seminar for Younger Poets in June. The Fellowship stipend is $20,000. In addition, the Fellow is provided a furnished apartment in Bucknell’s Poet’s Cottage & health insurance, as well as access to all campus academic, cultural, & recreational facilities. To be eligible, an applicant must be at least 21 years of age, must have received an advanced degree in creative writing with an emphasis in poetry (i.e. MFA, MA, PhD) no earlier than spring 2004, & must not be enrolled as a student during the period of the Fellowship. (Persons enrolled in a college or university at the time of application are eligible.) The Stadler Fellowship is potentially renewable for a second year. Fiction and Book Arts Position: Evergreen State College
The Evergreen State College seeks an author of fiction, professionally trained in fiction and book arts (including letterpress), for a full-time continuing faculty position. Candidates must have experience in teaching fiction and book arts as well as demonstrated potential in interdisciplinary teaching. The ideal candidate will demonstrate depth in both the teaching and production of fiction and book arts, as well as enthusiasm for teaching writing and literature in a broad range of courses. Especially desirable is the willingness to integrate the teaching of writing with other types of disciplinary learning. We also welcome applications from candidates with an interest in related fields such as literary theory and visual arts. Minimum Qualifications: MFA or a masters in a closely related field. Demonstrated ability to teach writing and book arts at the college level. Demonstrated potential for teaching in an interdisciplinary context.

Visiting Professorship in Fiction: U of Michigan
University of Michigan. The Department of English Language & Literature invites applications for the Helen Herzog Zell Visiting Professorship in Creative Writing visiting appointment in fiction, which is a three-year appointment (through April 30, 2012), with potential renewal for two additional years (through April 30, 2014). Candidates should be emerging writers (no more than one or two books published or under contract) who have achieved distinction in their writing & excellence in their teaching or who have demonstrated the promise of such distinction & excellence. Fiction Writing Job - Hartwick College
English (specialist in fiction writing): Hartwick College is a residential, liberal arts college enrolling 1,480 undergraduate students and located in Oneonta, NY. The Department of English and Theatre Arts invites applications for a full-time, 3-year position in fiction writing commencing September 2009 (pending final administrative approval) at the rank of assistant professor. The position will be reviewed for possible conversion to a tenure-track appointment during the second year. The successful candidate will possess ancillary expertise in teaching screenwriting and creative nonfiction, as well as literature courses, introduction to creative writing, composition, and first-year seminars. We seek a publishing fiction writer with an M.F.A. or Ph. D. in creative writing (fiction), evidence of excellence in teaching creative writing, and at least one book of fiction already in print. Teaching responsibilities in creative writing include introductory creative writing, intermediate and advanced fiction workshops, and supervision of directed and independent studies in Fiction Writing and ancillary fields. Teaching load: 20 hours/year (3-1-3). Submission deadline is November 15, 2008. Assistant Professor in Fiction Writing: Arkansas Tech University
Arkansas Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor in fiction writing, beginning August 11, 2009. Ph.D. preferred, ABD required, publication expected, and background in composition helpful. Annual teaching load will include creative writing courses in our B.F.A. program and general education composition and literature courses.
