Frank O'Hara Goes Prime Time

Publisher's Weekly reports that, thanks to an episode of the TV series Mad Men, year-to-date sales of Frank O'Hara's Meditations in an Emergency are up 218%.

Now I just need someone on Lost to mention that my MFA thesis is available for check-out at my university library.

Oh, but they would NOT be able to find ample supply for the demand! And then something awful would happen, like, FS&G would have to pick up the ms, and you'd feel so CHEAP, you wouldn't want that now would you?!

You're absolutely right! I prefer the quiet pride of anonymity. Thanks for all of your comments, by the way. And your blog, which is great!

Personally I prefer the quiet pride of a book advance; but poets don't get those, or agents, or contracts, or, come to think of it, anything fun. Only sometimes, a few decades after you die, they mention your book in an HBO series and you sell a squillion copies and your ingrate grandchildren can buy more blow.

Happy Friday! :o)

I won't be having grandchildren. I sold my ovaries to buy more typewriter tape. (Or is that a story I I read in an O. Henry anthology?)

Well, if it were an O. Henry story, then your partner would have sold your typewriter to pay for cryogenic sperm preservation. Hm, it does sound familiar....
